Jesus is the King of Kings, but we can talk to Him freely. So great to know how blessed we are to have a God who loves us. We COULD have potentially had a God who forces us to serve Him and doesn't care about us, BUT, that's not the case with Him.
People often ask me "What makes you think your God is THE God?". I usually think, "Because He's the only God who truly cares for His creation, so much as to send His beloved Son to die in our stead so we could be with Him for eternity, free from all condemnation.". People ask, "What makes you think Christianity is the truth?". I respond with, "Because I have seen the goodness of my God in the land of the living, and because Jesus Himself suffered, died, and rose again so that we may live. Christianity is the only faith in the world that truly spreads love, compassion, peace, humility, patience, and self-control.
We strive not for perfection by following the law as Christians, for when we become Christians, we enter the new covenant of Jesus Christ and are freed from the old covenant of the law of death. After we're saved, we follow the law out of love and respect for Jesus. Once we're saved, we cannot do anything that will separate us from Him. We're not physically perfect when we're saved, but we ARE free and forgiven.
Not to sound boastful, but I have always been a person who loves to think and dream big. I laid out a grand plan for my life back a few years ago. The plan was to graduate high school, go to get my degree at a local trade school, work locally for a few years, then move over to Cambridge, United Kingdom to work for a games company. While my dream and goal hasn't changed much, I have changed the mindset upon which I approach this goal.
Our human plans are so fragile in this world. Sometimes all it takes is just one change of circumstance, and the plan is shattered to pieces. That's why we should give everything, including plans and goals, to Jesus and let HIM work out the plan that He has chosen for you before you were even born. He will reward us for our faithfulness. Even if you don't see that reward on earth, the reward will be a lot more worth it in heaven. Every action we do on earth has a massive impact on eternity.
This earth will pass away one day. Eternity never will. Thus why we should try to store as many treasures for the day that we enter eternity. There's no going back once you're in it, so that's why we have to prepare. The futile things of earth are just to the side - we should ALWAYS put our eternity, and the eternity of others, first. Jesus is the Shepherd leading us through life, we shouldn't fear what God has planned for us.
I know, first-hand, that it's hard to surrender your life to Him. A goal I so passionately want to pursue is hard to just simply give up the obsession over, and letting Him take the reins. The best has not come yet. The blessings in this life are so inferior compared to the glory, power, honour, authority, and joy that will be revealed within us when we're transformed to our glourified bodies. So what are we waiting for? Let's all surrender everything to Jesus together, as brothers and sisters, so we can get the best results from Him.
