Ignite my soul, flames wildly burning
I'm not gone, my heart is still yearning
For You to breathe life into my lungs.
Bleed love into my veins until I see what's true.
Soak my body with faith until I find You.
I will not fall, for Your ever-loving hand upholds me
I cannot pass from this earth until You open my eyes to see
Those whom I have affected, my passion saved this love for the broken
Despite the loss of faith- I long for what You have spoken.
Spirit, bring life back into my body,
Flow into my heart until my veins again fill.
I want to know who I'm to be
And see my portrait hang in the hall of Your will.
Soften the scales so that I may see
The light that You see in me,
That hope may be restored still.
Carry me into the corridors of time,
Away from every cold outside emotional factor.
My desire: to feel many wonders and signs,
To experience the glorious stars clothing You in splendor.
Selah
You see my heart's desire: to be lifted to the heavens
And joyfully leap across the serene nebulae
As You speak Your purpose and the name of every star;
Lay out on this celestial canvas the man I'm meant to be,
Or sing to me a song accompanied by choirs
Of limitless sound multiplied by seventy times seven.
The vacuum of space appears cold and maddening to some,
But its serenity appeals to me when I walk through this storm.
To leap across galaxies gazing at Your majestic glory
With the heavens as Your footstool, and what's beyond, Your throne.
In the eyes of the masses, history is no longer Your story
And our loving relationship is made nuisance, a side without a thorn.
I still believe, and I still desire; I am not yet numb.
Suffering tries to rip me away from You and to lead me into disdain,
Yet I am but a man, I'm not powerful enough to ever maintain
Perfection as you've painted in Your blueprint from which I cannot run...
I've fallen. Indeed, I've fallen. I'll fall again and again,
But in this moment, this place in which I stand
Is just what my soul needed to quench a thirsty man.
Selah
Space, time, creation;
Faith, hope, and love.
These three remain parallel in my heart.
You are Adonai, Lord over this beautiful image You've shown me;
Though justice is Your right, sword will not conquer dove.
You've always loved me; have I not yet loved You?
Perhaps I should start.
I'm not gone, my heart is still yearning
