The Song of Stars
A modern-day psalm
You tell me to pour out my heart to You,
To make my requests known.
When I send my thoughts to You, no response finds me.
How much longer must I suffer alone?
If You're my Father, and I, Your son --
If I am valued and beloved --
Why am I loved by none and tolerated by few?
O Father, do thoughts reach heaven faster than light?
Do prayers ring louder than the music of stars?
Give me faith the size of the heavens;
Show me hope that quakes the earth!
Cast this doubt into the abyss and remind me
Of what it truly means to rest.
Selah
My thoughts travel no faster than light,
For You are light's source.
If the stars sing Your praise, then I will scream my prayers
Loud enough to pierce the darkness.
I will scream Your Name and shake the heavens.
I will scream for help until You rescue me...
Give me faith the size of the heavens;
